Trust

Instilling the legacy of giving back.

our story

The founders of the WFK Trust are the Kunene Family, including a very diverse third generation (3G) who bring a variety of skills.

The Kunene Family have always instilled a legacy of giving back which is what gave birth to the WFK Trust. Winnie and Fortune Kunene dedicated their professional lives to education in the Boksburg and Vosloorus areas. They believed in the essential role that education plays in improving the lives of young people and the communities in which they live. They also believed strongly in family values.

Winnie and Fortune Kunene instilled these same values in their children. It is these same strong family roots that have seen Kunene Bros. Holdings grow from the humble beginnings of the milk business left to the 5 brothers by Fortune, to the prominent black-owned investment enterprise it is today.

Solid, united and strong the WFK Trust will continue the Kunene family legacy, as the clan’s name clearly states “Lubambolunye”, meaning, “comes from a single rib”.

Building stronger communities through education and improved community welfare, the WFK Trust aims to improve the quality of lives of communities. Communities must still be able to stand on their own feet and continue the work on their own, unaided. Teaching communities of achieving beyond your circumstance.
